How do I add Apple TV to my iCloud account?

Apple keychain has my other passwords, but I can't add my Apple TV to it. I have an older Apple TV. Is this the reason I can't add it? Typing passwords into Apple TV manually is painfully slow, as you know. Will I be able to use keychain if I upgrade my Apple TV?

OK. I am replacing my Apple TV. Not sure what version I have, but it is old.
However, a related issue is occurring. I have downloaded a number of TV shows and I can see them in iTunes on my Mac. But only a couple of them show up on my iPhone and my Apple TV. What's up with that?

In what way?
If you sign in to your 4th Gen Apple TV, it will allow you access to some iCloud content and show up as device you are signed in to.
Is that what you mean?
