Where does the icon used by Airdrop come from?

When I try to Airdrop to MY computer, it shows up with my husband's icon and says it's his computer. (The account setting in my computer's System Prefs shows my correct icon.) In Airdrop, my iPhone shows my correct icon.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), AirDrop

Hi, KittenPetter.
I see that you're not locating your Mac when you're trying to share files through AirDrop on your iPhone. You see your husband's Mac instead. I'm happy to help.
Share content with AirDrop on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you can’t see the other device in AirDrop

If you can't see the person or the device that you're trying to AirDrop to, check the following:

  • Check that both of you have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on. If either of you have Personal Hotspot on, turn it off.
  • Make sure that the person you're sending to is nearby. You can't AirDrop to users who are out of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi range.
  • If the other person’s AirDrop receiving setting is set to Contacts Only, and you’re not in their Contacts, have them set their AirDrop receiving setting to Everyone.

If the above steps haven't helped, are you both using the same ID for iCloud?

Let me know how that goes and take care!
