hi, i was browsing the web and got a warning stating that a download of Advanced Mac Cleaner is required and that the last site i visited had a virus and i must clean it now. Is this for real? I have a MacBook Pro, with all updated operating system etc. Would appreciate any advise, I'm kinda lost on this, don't trust if its legit.

It is not. Advanced Mac Cleaner is adware/malware, and getting it off of your computer is a royal pain. I'd recommend that you do not install that app.
Be aware that the Mac operating system is designed to prevent the issues in the first place that these aftermarket 'anti virus' and 'cleaner' software packages purport to take care of. You already have the powerful juju you need to keep your Mac running well.
