How could you get the peeling problem fixed?

I've just hopped off from Android user to IOS, but the first thing I face in the first second when unboxing the Iphone 7 plus Black Matte is peeling problem. The staff let me have a look after he unboxed then I found a spot of peeling around 1 mm on the edge. I asked them whether I could change it but I got refusal because it's not the condition under the warranty. Though it's just a very tiny spot peeling, but it can develop to a large one. I'm a very careful user one. I need to know anybody who faced this defect and I heard somebody got it painted using Acrylic paint but does it work?

Where did you buy this? If an Apple Store, you have a 14 day unconditional return period, so Apple staff cannot refuse to give you a full refund or exchange for another device. If past the 14 day return period, then yes, normally Apple does not offer repairs (in or out of warranty) for purely cosmetic issues.

If you purchased at an Apple Authorized reseller, then their return and exchange policy would apply.

If not an Apple Authorized reseller, than it almost assuredly is not a retail new iphone to begin with.
