Real Racing 2 won't open

I just downloaded Real Racing 2 from the Mac App Store. It simply won't open. When I try to run the app the following error pops up:

Real Racing 2 can't be opened.

"Real Racing 2" is damaged and can't be opened. Delete "Real Racing 2" and download it again from the App Store.

This report will be sent to Apple automatically.

I have tried the following, none of which worked:

  • Deleted and reinstalled the app 3 times.
  • Rebooted my computer.
  • Turned off WiFi when trying to start the game.
  • Signed in and out of my App Store account (my Apple ID).

Any and all help is appreciated. If I am unable to get this game working, a refund is justified. Thank you.

It appears that for some reason the application's codesign got corrupted. Thankfully there's a working solution for this until apple fixes the download.

simply open your terminal and enter the following

sudo codesign -fs - /Applications/Real\ Racing\ 2.app

wait for it to finish and return to prompt then launch your game and everything should work fine.
