Expected library size for long form projects

Hello,

I wanted to weigh in and see what I can expect for library size on a long form project when the media is left in place.

I'm using FCPX on a documentray and I am in the preliminary stages of the edit. I have 21 projects (timelines) in an event and about 8 hours of footage in a few other events.

All of the media is left in place (external to library), the cache is outside the library, as well as any media created by FCPX (proxies/ optimized). I've deleted all generated files to be safe. This leaves me with a library that is 675.6MB. Seems large to me, but I don't have a gauge to compare it to.

I showed package contents and it seems that what is making up the dearth of MBs is each project's CurrentVersion.fcpevent

I wanted to see if this is what is to be expected on a long form show in one library.

I remember splitting up a show between multiple projects back in FCP7, mostly due to slow open times.

Thanks in advance.

FCPX 10.3.3

Mac OS 10.12.5

Final Cut Pro X, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)
