WAIT!!! WHAT!?!?!? WHY NOT??? This makes no sense to me! This should at the very least be an option...
Once you add something to your Wish List (movies) or Favorites (TV shows) the option will appear in the top menu bar.
When I added something to a Wish List in iTunes on my computer, the option did not appear for a while, but when I added it on ATV in the Movies app, it was added immediately.

Thank you for the info, Rysz. I was hoping someone might respond with a solution to this issue. I admit that my comment would have been better sent directly to Apple Feedback, since it's more of a lament than it is a request for assistance.
