Unlock iPhone bought through Best Buy

I bought an iPhone 7 Plus through Best Buy and they said it was unlocked and the box even says it will work on CDMA or GDM networks. I used it on T-Mobile and now it seems it has been locked to T-Mobile and they cant unlock it because I did not buy it from them and Best Buy is not much help. My Verizon sim will not work at all nor will any other Verizon SIM. Am I stuck with a 1000 dollar paper weight? Thanks.

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.3.2

They either lied or were ignorant. It is NOT unlocked. It will lock to the first carrier used. If you activated it with a T-Mobile SIM, they are the only ones who can unlock it. It must be active on their network for them to be able to process an unlock request if you didn't buy it through them.

Call T-Mobile back and escalate the call. No one else can do anything about it.
