You can try installing the W7 drivers from Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support in compatibility mode with administrative privileges. Create a Windows System Restore point, before you try.
When I run setup.exe it's fine until it says that windows installer has stopped working and forces you to close the program but the installation still goes on and when it's close to finishing my screen goes black and stays that way until I turn it off and turn it back on
Will W8.1 work? If yes, is it possible to remove W10 and install W8.1 as a test? W10 has known issues with the Intel 5100 GPU. The W10 Installer does not work with this GPU, but if the GPU is not present, it will install, but only allow the generic VGA adapter.
The other option you can explore further is to use VirtualBox and install W10 as a VM, if you do not need the entire resources of the Mac to be dedicated to Windows. VirtualBox can be substituted with VMware Fusion or Parallels.
What is the brand/type of monitor? Are you able to perform the same function in OS X without any issues?
I have a BenQ Rl2455HM and I am able to perform the same function in OS X
What is the physical connection between the monitor and the Mini 2014? What adapters and cables are used?
HDMI
On Windows, does the BenQ show up as a TV or as a monitor?
Where can I check that?
Where do I chack that?
