Adding birthday to calendar for someone who's not in the contact list!

I want to add birthdays of some children and babies to my calendar so that I won't forget the date they were born, but since they are not among my contact list it actually doesn't allow me! do you know of any other way?

null-OTHER, iOS 10.3.2

You can either add their birthdays to the calendar just like any other event and set it to re-occur every year. Otherwise, you can create a contact card for each and set the birthdate so they show up in the Birthday's calendar. There is no way to manually add entries to the Birthday calendar since its a smart calendar based on your contacts.

Personally, I have each of my children entered as a contact because I like the clean look of having them all in the Birthdays calendar.
