Phone Call from (888)******

I received a phone call from a phone number (888) ******. They tell me they are Apple and are calling about a very serious issue. They are telling me that I need to allow them to access a laptop or desktop computer because I am having hackers and intruders from Turkey and Jordan trying to access my iPhone. They tell me my IP address and say that I must do this immediately or Apple will have to shut down my phone, and of course it only for my own protection. I asked them what Apple ID they are talking about and they say they do not have that, only my IP address. I told them I would rather go to an Apple store to fix any issue and they tried telling me that Apple Stores on not equipped to handle this and my phone may be shut down before i go there.

Now, I know this is a scam, probably to get my personal info on my computers, but others need to be made aware of this.

Thanks!

it's not probably a scam, it is a scam and there are thousands of fraudsters out there with just as many numbers trying to pull this off. Report the number to the authorities, but I'm asking the mods to remove it because broadcasting it all over the internet even when you are saying it's fraud can futher their cause.

all you or anyone else needs to know is under no circumstances will Apple will never call you unless they returning a call you first made to them requesting they contact you with an authorized service request.

See this link to report fraud to Apple:
