Apple Maps directions-route doesn't show

Using Apple Maps, and asking for directions, the list appears correctly on the left, but the route is not displayed when in Satellite mode, only in Map mode. The start and end point are show.

Any ideas? I tried this on the guest account as well as my regular account and it is doing the same.

Using 10.12.5. Not sure if the recent update has anything to do with, since I hadn't tried this on my mac in a while.
