Why does Safari window size keeps changing when I open new tabs

For a few months now, I've noticed that the window size of Safari on my Mac OS keeps extending towards the bottom... This usually happens when I open a new tab. If left unchecked, my Safari window which used to be centered on the screen will continue to 'extend' vertically in size until it reaches the bottom of my screen. It's just getting bothersome. Any ideas?

I had the AdBlock extension. I turned it off and restarted Safari, but it hasn't changed anything. To reset Safari back to its default window size, I use the command "delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari 'NSWindow Frame BrowserWindowFrame'" on Terminal, but I always have to do this on a regular basis. Any help would be appreciated!

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), Safari 9.0.2

In your first screen shot the window is not in full screen thats why , a a gap is shown between bottom edge and a a screen shot some date is written .

In the second and third screen shots there is a very thin line gap between edge and a screen shot ( that is in full screen mode ) .

Right , so you can expand the screen by taking cursor on corners and dragging them towards corners as shown in the first screen shot window in your computer .

Might be a corrupt .plist.

Do a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

Quit the application.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.

Restart the computer, open the application, and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.

If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.
