It seems that Logic doesn't allow you to copy a region of a take to a new track. If I select a region of a take, then copy, then highlight a new track, and paste, it pastes all the regions and the comp. I don't want that, I just one one. Also, I noticed if there is only one take in the comp, it won't let me copy and paste it to a new track at all. Is this by design? Doesn't make sense to me.
Are you using the latest version 10.3.1?
I think I remember that that functionality was introduced recently. It works fine her.

I found a workaround. In the comp menu, I use the export command to copy the region to a new track. Logic creates a new track (which I don't want) but at least it only copies the take region I want, not all the takes and the comp take. I can then copy that single region to the track I want. Then I delete the new track Apple created. It's extra work and annoying, but it will get the job done.
If others know of a way to copy a take region directly to a track of your choice, without going through the middleman of export to a new track, please let me know.

I tried to copy and paste a take region to a new track, but as I said in my original post, it didn't work. If there was more than one take, it copied ALL the regions in the comp, plus the comp. If only one take, it wouldn't copy and paste it to the new track at all.
I am using Logic 10.2.4, which I assumed was the latest. I was never notified by Logic or by the Apple Store Updates that there was an update. So maybe this problem was fixed in 10.3.1?
