remote on Bose sound dock no longer works - neither does Monster iEZClick r

I have a 20GB IPOD. It plays on the Bose sound dock. But the remote on the Bose no longer is working (but it does with another IPOD we own). Also, just got a Monster iEZClick wireless remote control - it doesn't work either. Suggestions on how to resolve this?

Try to do a Reset (press "select"+"menu" keys until you see the apple logo). If does not work, then restore your iPod to factory settings.

After the restore - the remote on the Bose Sound Dock now works to change the volume. It still does NOT move from song to song on a playlist using those controls.
The Monster IezClick wireless remote does not work at all - not change volume, nor change songs.

Any other ideas?
