Find my friends: orange circle around friend's picture

Hi!

I have noticed that sometimes and orange circle will surround the picture of a friend in the map view of Find my Friends on iOS. This seems to particularly happen to one friend of mine, but it's not consistent, i.e. it's not part of the picture itself.

Does anybody know what this orange circle signifies?

Thanks,

-h.

Hi!

Thanks for the reply. No, sorry. I see that I should have been more specific. I didn't mean the semi-transparent orange circle on the map, representing the uncertainty of the position. Rather, it's an opaque thin orange circle around the picture itself. I tried to find an example, but couldn't as none of my contacts looked that way now. But in the picture you have provided above, there is a thin white edge around the profile picture. The circle I'm talking about would be a thin orange circle between this white edge and the picture.
