This is another reason I don't like the Apple Watch.
What other watches work with iPads, iPods and older iPhones?

Up until very recently, Pebble Watches.
Pebble watches and OS worked acrosss ALL iDevices as far back as the iPad 3 and iPhone 4/4S and iPod Touch 3rd gen.
I own a Pebble watch.
FItBit bought out Pebble late last year.
They acquired the entire business entity and some of their best employees.
As a matter of fact, a few months after Pebble got bought out by FitBit, FitBit let former Pebble OS employees responsible for coding the Pebble OS to issue one last fairly significant Pebble OS update for Pebble watch owners this past Jan. 2017.
And for the time being, FitBit is still allowing Pebble's old OS servers to still run and still be accessed by existing Pebble Watch owners.
For how much longer this will continue, no Pebble Watch owner knows, but it is nice that FitBit is still allowing Pebble Watch owners to still have access to these servers for continued Pebble watch support for a little while longer.

Yes, I did mean devices currently available. 🙂
I do understand why Pebble failed. Owning one of them almost put me off of smart watches entirely. Glad to hear it works for you, though. Fitbit makes nice enough devices. However, their unwillingness to make them work with Health made the decision to buy an Apple Watch fairly easy for me. The FitBit Surge is a very good running watch if one doesn't want to spend the money on one of the higher end Garmin or similar. In fact, I'd say it's a better running watch than the original Apple Watch.
Best of luck.
I'll take a look at the FitBit Surge.
Sorry to hear that the Pebble watch and Pebble OS didn't work out for you.
My Pebble Watch is still serving me pretty well except for serious battery drain issues using the sleep monitoring app which I ended up stopping its use.
I like the fact that I only have to charge my Pebble watch every 3 to 4 days instead of everyday.
But since there will be no more updates any longer, I am looking for my next smart watch that'll either work with my iPad Pro or my 6th gen iPod Touch.
So, thanks for the heads up on the FitBit Surge.

It's only barely counts as a "smart watch". I'd call it a running watch with notifications. I believe the Blaze is a bit moves a bit further into the smart watch category. But, as I've never used it, I can't vouch for it. I had a friend who really liked his, though.
No.
Apple Watch only works with iPhones only and iPhone 5 or later models.

Sorry.
Does the apple iwatch work with iPod 5th generation?
