Remove a device listed in Bluetooth suggested menu

How to remove a device, that I no longer have, asking to pair and listed in the Bluetooth suggested menu in the System Preferences?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Hello Shamboy,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with your Bluetooth devices. This help article has the info you seek: Disconnect a Bluetooth device from your Mac and says:

Click in the menu bar, select the device, then click Disconnect. To unpair a device, click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen, then choose System Preferences. Click next to the device you want to unpair, then click Remove.

After you unpair a device, it no longer appears in your devices list.

Thanks and have a great day.
