Maximum Number of Photos

Is there a maximum number of photos that the Photos app and iCloud can handle on an iPhone?

Or is it limited by the amount of memory you have available?

Thank you for your help.

This article points out that the number of photos you can have in your Photo stream is limited by the amount of memory in iCloud, not on your individual device. If the average photo is 3mb, the above noted article provides this graphic. It would seem to indicate that a 1Tb iCloud storage can hold about 333,000 photos. I'm guessing this is close to an answer as Apple doesn't seem to list a maximum anywhere.

I'm glad that helped. iCloud Library is just a syncing service, and the photos actually reside in iCloud and are synced to all of the devices with the same iCloud ID. Deleting photos from one of the synced devices will delete the photo from all devices, and iCloud. That is where a great many users end up in trouble, and cannot figure out what happened to their photos. They tend to do this when running out of room on their phones, and think they have moved everything to the cloud and they delete photos on the phone for space and all of a sudden realize they have deleted their entire photo library. Good luck and enjoy your device(s).
