I googled a lot... have seen many youtube videos.. but couldn't find any application or any feature in the iPhone which helps to lock external applications like WhatsApp, Facebook, messenger etc with touch ID or passcode.
Can anyone help pls? I am using Iphone SE

That's because none exist.
iOS is such that Apps cannot affect other apps directly like that. So there would be no App that could possibly set a passcode or lock on another app.
There is no way to lock individual apps with a passcode unless the App itself provides the locking mechanism.

Individual App developers have had the ability to include an app lock in their products for ages. Apple does not provide any such function since any given app developer can always include it if they wish to. Many apps in the app store offer the option to enable a lock on that app (there are notes apps that do this, as well as many banking and financial apps, some shopping apps, and even a few games apps).
Contact the developer of the app you wish to lock and request they include the option to lock their app.

Yeah, I don't quite get this need to lock specific apps when you can lock the entire iPhone.

I always suspect it's so that one's spouse doesn't see the sexts to the "special friend" when they ask to use the phone. But, that's the kind of mind I have.
Well, except that it is made of just some kind of "composite" plastic (so some reinforced resin ?), so any good flat head screwdriver can probably bust it open in a few seconds. I saw them in Target once and at leas they were only charging $12.99 for them. At first I thought they might be made from billited aluminum or something substantial, but nope.
