Best Mac for Retro gaming ?

Hello,

I have several old macs

1) Macintosh classic 1 ( non-working , needs recaps )

2) Macintosh classic 2 ( non-working, needs recaps )

4) Power PC mac G4 400mhz ( works )

5a) Power PC mac G4 1.2ghz, single CPU ( works )

5b) Power PC mac G4 1.2ghz, Dual CPU ( works )

6) Power PC iMac G4 1.2ghz, 17-inch display ( works, I have 2 of these )

And of course I have many new macs with Intel CPU's

I want to be able to play all the old games from the macintosh classic on up to moderm games.

I want to be able to play games and run apps from Mac OS 6 thru 10

Which mac is the best to use for this and which way is the best way to go about playing old games and running old apps ?

if you need to run Classic system 6 - 9.2.2 games you will need an PPC that supports classic mode so your mac will need to run OS X 10.5 or below. if any of your Macs have this it wont matter which one you use because they all will likely exceed the system requirements. However not all games may work in classic mode.

Intel macs will not run Classic Mode.

Okay, I have my PPC iMac 1.2ghz with 17-inch display loaded with multiboot Tiger/OS9/Leopard

I also have my PPC iBook 14-inch setup the same way.

I am fairly new to the macintosh. I do not know much about old macintosh operating systems or how they work.

How exactly would I go about loading old games on a PPC with Tiger/OS9 ?

I have tiger installed and then OS9 installed within tiger.

I don't understand how OS9 work with tiger. I thought OS9 would allow me to boot into OS9 OS how ever it does not instead it goes into some type of compatibility mode.

How would I go about installing old games and apps in OS9 mode ?
