Ipad Air 2 64GB Performance Drop after 10.3

Hello.

I noticed a big performance drop after IOS 10.3 update on Ipad Air 2 when playing "Sim City Build it".

When apple released 10.3, i updated right away, but when i saw the performance descrease, i then saved everything and went back to 10.2.1 since it was still signing.

Now accidentally my ipad was updated to 10.3.2 (not by me) and i still see the same performance descrease when playing "Sim City" compared to 10.2.1.

I dont know what apple has done with 10.3 update besides the new APFS file system, but the performance difference when playing "Sim City" is huge. Before the gameplay was smooth and rarely you could notice any slow movement during city view, but now, even when the game starts and loads up your city, when it minimizes to the "default view" you could easily notice the performance difference.

Take a look at it and see whats wrong, because having this bad performance, something is not right there.

You are not talking to Apple here. These are user to user forums.

Incidentally, you should contact the app developer. It is not Apple's responsibility to be concerned about app performance. Apple provides developers with significant advanced information about releases before general release.

Hi Xszp. I wonder if the game is listed in Settings > General > About > Applications. If it is, that means it's a 32-bit program. With 10.3, iOS has begun moving to a full 64-bit version, so the necessary VM for 32-bit may be a little slower than before.

Thx for your answer Diana, I counted all the apps from "About" and yes it's there.

So that means it's a 32 bit application and the reason might be what you said.

I contacted EA also about this and I'm waiting their answer which I hope they will tell me exactly why this is happening!

Folks here have a feeling that the reason for this new list of "bad" apps is that the next iOS will be 64-bit only, with no 32-bit support. If that's actually true, and your apps have not been updated, you'll have a decision to make in September.

I hope you have better luck than I have had with EA support (different app).

They do have a blog where users post sometimes helpful information.
