Free iCloud storage

I have a 8 yr old son that is severely autistic and is completely non verbal. He uses his iPad to communicate with me through my iPhone! His iPad had almost 50 gigs of apps and pictures and programs used for therapy and school. I am looking to backup his iPad apps I have on my phone for him so they are not lost, he has a iPad one originally but it was broken and I lose everything once,I have spent a lot of money on purchasing these apps back on a iPad his therapists gave him. I need to back everything up! I'm on such a fixed budget being a single mother is there a way to get any more free storage for iCloud because I just can't afford to pay anything more per month! His iPad was given to him through his 3 therapy places. I have all the apps on my iPhone and I need them backed up so they are not lost. Please someone give me some helpful advice.

Apps are not part of backups. As long as they are still available in the App Store, you can re-download them for free and to multiple devices. To redownload, log into the Store using the Apple ID used to buy the apps and navigate to the Purchases tab.

iDevices should be synced with a computer and all photos, mudic, etc, imported there. Using iTunes on a computer, you can also make backups.

Contact Apple directly to see if you could at least get your money back for paying for apps twice.

Do you have a computer? If you do, you can create backups in iTunes at no charge. As Rysz indicated, the apps can be re-downloaded as long as they are still in the store, and if they have been downloaded to your iTunes Library on a computer, they can be downloaded indefinitely.

As for the app data, you would need a backup for that, and for any other data you want saved including photos.

The maximum free iCloud storage that Apple offers is the 5GB. But if you are only looking at storing less than 50GB total, then it's $.99 a month for 50GB of storage. If you can't afford the $.99, is there some organization that may help with that?

Best of luck,

GB
