iPad Mini 2 Safari scrolls back to top when going back

After the 10.3.2 update, my go to site called www.blowoutcards.com/forums keeps scrolling to the top when I go back a page. For example, I scroll down the list of forum posts, click and read a post. When I go back a page, be it the list of topics or the list of categories, the page always starts back at the top. It should return me to the location of the previous page if it's the middle or bottom. Not the top. It only happened after 10.3.2. I've done a complete wipe and reset. On a fresh reset, the problem is there. It is really annoying. Any ideas?

Thanks for testing it out. All the settings are default since I didn't change anything after doing the erase/reset. Most sites and forums work as expected when I go back a page. But there is another one where I've experienced the same problem. https://www.sportscardforum.com

They both use vBulletin as the forum software so I'm wondering if my problem has anything to do with that. Also, I understand that it's a unique problem as it doesn't happen to everyone but it definitely happens to me consistently, not just some of the time.

So, all normal. As I said, your site works fine for me. One little catch I can think of. iOS Safari keeps everything in RAM, and your device has only 1 or 2 GB RAM. It has to forget pages that are not current. So, when you interact with the pages, that may cause it to forget the previous page, so it has to reload and position at the top. All I did was open the link and return, so not a very realistic test. Personally, on sites like this Communities, I always open links in a new tab, so I don't have to follow a chain of backs to return to the listing. You could try that.

Hello Diana.McCall,

I traded-in my iPad Mini 2 for an iPad Mini 4 over the weekend. As soon as I signed on with my iCloud and started using Safari, the problem popped up on the new iPad. I think I found a pattern that is causing this weirdness... I'm able to reproduce as well as solve it with a workaround. Do you mind testing for me again? This time:

Enable "Show Favorites Bar" for Safari

Go to http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/baseball/

Open a second and third tab, go to http://www.espn.com or http://www.apple.com (any site)

Click around in Blowoutcards and swipe back to see if autoscroll happens. It appears to happen to me when I have "Show Favorites Bar" enabled AND a second or third tab open. It doesn't happen if I disable "Show Favorites Bar" or have only 1 tab open (blowoutcards). As soon as I enable "Show Favorites Bar" and then open a second tab to http://www.apple.com , autoscroll to the top happens.

Thank you.
