Double click the Home button and swipe Safari upwards. Go to Settings/Safari and clear History and Website Data. Open Safari and test.
Safari - Clear the history and cookies on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Safari website data on your iPhone or iPad - How to clear
Use private browsing : Safari for Mac: Use Private Browsing windows in Safari
Open a new tab ( command + T ) .
When you use a Private Browsing window:
Each tab in the window is isolated from the others, so websites you view in one tab can’t track your browsing in other tabs.
Try going to Safari/Preferences/Search/Search Engine and uncheck 'include search engine suggestions'. Test. If that doesn't work, uncheck the 4 boxes in Smart Search Field. Test. If that worked, check one box at a time until you find the box/item causing the unwanted behavior.
Thank you. The first solution did not work. Where do I find the 4 boxes in Smart Search Field?
They are all unchecked and I still have the same problem. The problem happens when I am on the Google Web search page.
Also, problem only happens when I use my iPad. On my computer, everything is fine
Yes, that clears the history, but what I want is to prevent it from happening in the first place. I didnt have that problem before. It seems to have appeared with the latest upgrade of IOS.
