E-mail Scam

Hi All,

I just wanted to make you aware of a phishing scam that is going around through Apple Customer's e-mails. They invite you to change your account information within a 48 hour window. If not, the account will be closed.

I'm sure some of you are aware that any correspondence from Apple, will always be signed as Apple Inc. not Apple PTY Ltd. Please don't click the link on the e-mail and report it to Apple by e-mailing it to: reportphishing@apple.com

Below is an example of an e-mail I received Sunday. Please be careful with your information and account information and only change account details through Apple Inc.

spam like this constant and not a sudden or even recent trend. Consider any email waring you to change account info suspicion until you can clearly validate it's origin.

Remember this example apple.com is Apple Computer , but apple.support.com is support.com whoever they are

the last dot before the top level domain (.com, .edu, .co.uk, .tv, etc.) is the host - just because it has a .dot apple in the name is no indication anything came from apple. - apple.apple.apple.fred.com is not apple.com (it's fred.com)

If you are not sure roll over the URL and check the bootom of the screen for the destionation

really.this.is.apple.com
