Looking for note taking app with OCR and recording.
I have been looking for a note taking app, with both OCR and recording capability, to use with my IPad Pro 9.7 and apple Pencil. Primarily I would be using it for recipe development. But would also like to use it for garden design. When developing recipes I use a paper notebook and compare quantities and ingredients from many different sources. I end up with a hand written spreadsheet with lots of columns of quantities for the different ingredients being used. Then while testing the recipes I take lots of notes. Once testing is done I have to manually type my finished recipe and notes into the recipe storage app I use. I'm hoping by using my iPad and Apple Pencil I can streamline this process.
For garden design I need graph paper for the design and the ability to write on photos that I've imported from iPhoto or the net and print everything in a neat presentation.
When I started my research of note taking apps I thought it would be great to both be able convert my recipe with OCR to move to my recipe app and also to be able to record my notes while my hands are messy so that I don't get my iPad dirty. After reading many reviews and comparing features it seems I can't necessarily get all I want in one note taking app. So although recording would be a nice feature OCR is most important. Which rules out Notability:(. After looking at a number of apps I'm leaning toward Good Notes 4 or possibly Notes Plus. Have any of you used both of these apps? Which is better?
One other thing I am looking for is the ability to photograph or scan my handwritten recipes and convert them into text recipes. Is there anything like that out there?
Thanks in advance for your help.
