I'd like to buy the apple pencil but My IPad is Retina 16 GB (MD513TY/A) and i don't kwon if that active pen is 100% compatible with my device. Is someone using apple pencil with that device?

Thank you Carolyn for your answer. Do you know if is there a similar active pen working with IPad retina? I'm not searching for special function but only use a pen for writing, drawing. Actually I use a passive pen that doesn't satisfy completely.
The Apple Pencil works only with iPad Pro models. It does nothing with any other iPad models.
The pencil only works on the iPad Pro.
