Final Cut Pro Discount

Hi. I'm a small youtuber/freelance filmmaker thinking about switching from iMoive to Final Cut Pro. My mom is considering buying a new mac because her 2008 is simply too slow and she said that when she gets one she will let me use it for editing. If I were to purchase final cut preinstalled on her mac would my dads government employee discount affect the cost? Or would it be no different then purchasing it after the computer is set up?

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12.5)

If you are a student or educator, you may qualify for the educational discount in which you get five Pro Apps for $200:

Or if you can find retailers (such as Target, Sam’s Club, Costco, and BJ’s) that offer discounts on iTunes cards, you can use those credits for App Store purchases. You can follow https://twitter.com/itunescarddeals for other sales. As of this post, Staples is offering 15% off, and Walmart is offering 10% off.

You need to double check if you can use iTunes cards to buy applications on the Mac store. I read elsewhere that it is not possible.

Sometimes if you apply for a new credit card you get a 100/ 150 bonus / cash back if you spend 500/1000 within 3/6 months.

That could bring your FC cost down to 199, if you can use the credit card for 200 more dollars within a few months.

My gripe is that iMovie is good, but its color / white balance / exposure adjustments are coarse and limited.
