iphone message alerts don't always work

I've got iphone 6 using ios 10.3. Sometimes my sound alert works for incoming txt message, sometimes it doesn't. I am regularly NOT getting notification of important txts. But other times I do get notification.

I've researched this so many times on the internet and have done EVERYTHING that has been suggested.

Anyone got any other ideas please. It's driving me mad!
