saving entire computer on cloud

Hi, I'm looking to have my ENTIRE MAC saved on iCloud. Everything, all of my Music and Photos obviously...but also all of my Word and Excel Documents. I also have a lot of Videos that are NOT part of I-Photo (or Photos)...and PDF's.....

I just want Everything backed-up...and NOT in my house on another external hard drive.

I just purchased 2 TB of space on I-cloud...now what.?

I can't seem to find the settings to indicate EVERYTHING going to i-cloud.

What am I missing...?

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

BT

be advised restoring a computer from a cloud should be a last resort and cloud backup should be secondary to local backup on an external drive or alternate partition. A cloud backup requires network connection and network bandwidth and can take hours or days where a hard drive can often restore in a fraction of the time, and can also restore a computer to a bootable state in the event of a catastrophic loss.

I would NOT recommend doing that.

Why are you objectionable to local backups?

Cloud backup of your entire computer is a really bad idea.

Unless you pay for really fast download AND upload speeds, depending on how much data you have have on your computer, this could take days to upload.

Local backups with external drives are much faster and more convenient.

Also not intentionally risking off site server storage of ALL your data to future possible security risks.

This is a bad idea.

Plus, any data you push to the cloud, you WILL lose any organisation of your data that you performed on your Mac!
