This is what it looks like at the moment, as you can see the little icon have changed into folders icons instead of what they used to be. I was wondering if anyone knows how to change it back. If it helps, I think it changed after I logged into a new wifi.

First, if you have not already, restart your Mac by selecting the Apple menu in the upper left of the display and choosing "Restart..." from the drop down menu. Once the computer is back on, check Finder to see if the icons appear as expected. If not, the next suggestion I have is to boot into safe mode. If you continue to have trouble after using safe mode, my next recommendation is to create a new user account. You can learn how that can be helpful, and how to set up a new account, in this article: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac.
