New iPad released one month after purchase!!

Wonder if anyone can help on this issue...

I recently bought an iPad Pro 9.7"...about one month ago. THEN...very recently, the new 10.5" iPad Pro is released and my "new" iPad Pro is already obsolete!!!

Does Apple have any loophole where I can trade in my "now old" iPad Pro for the new one? It is already past the 14 day refund policy period...I somehow feel cheated as Apple surely would have known that a month later, they will be releasing a new iPad!

Look forward to some favourable responses...

If you are really saying that you want the larger 10.5 inch screen iPad Pro model, then your only option is to sell your 9.7 inch screen iPad Pro, yourself and use the monetary proceeds toward the new 10.5 inch screen iPad Pro.

No one knew what Apple was going to introduce at WWDC2017.

With technology, new stuff is always only a year or less away.

There is no real reason why you should be unhappy with your purchase.

You got want you wanted that was currently available.

Why would it be obsolete?

It can still run the current software, it will continue to receive updates for the foreseeable future, and will in fact be able to update to iOS 11 in the near future. How is that obsolete in any way shape or form?

So unless you really think that there being a new model somehow affects the functionality of yours, I don't see how a new release is an issue.

There will always be a newer model coming out. Regardless of when you buy it/

With that said, Apple has a 14 day return period no questions asked. After that you can sell your iPad and use the money towards a new one. Or attempt to plead your case at an Apple Store and see what they say. There is no real loophole other than asking nicely and hoping the employees at the store are nice enough to accept the return.

I don't know why you think your 9.7 inch iPad Pro will stop working?

It won't!!

And it is NOT obsolete!!!

As a matter of fact, your 9.7 inch iPad Pro will be plenty eligible to upgrade to iOS 11 in the Fall of 2017 where it will get a huge amount of new features!

iPads do not just stop working because Apple isn't making a certain iPad model any longer!

That is just ridiculous thinking!

Your 9.7 inch iPad will always work and continue to be supported and continue to receive both iOS and App updates for, at least, another 4 years, or so.

Your 9.7 inch screen iPad Pro is just fine!

It seems a lot of people on this forum do not know the meaning of "obsolete".

I bought my iPad thinking I would have the most update, new version...I was just not expecting Apple to release a newer version a month later.

sorry this is no DIRECT help

BUT in the future there are the two main dates apple Refreshes(or totally updates) its products every year

The are MID Year, June July (month 06 - 07)

and end of year September October (month 09-10)

So keep in mind that around these dates refrain from buying new apple products and wait and see what they have in Store

remember if for some reason your product does not work how it should you shold be eligible for a refund

and plan B is just straight up going into a store and seeing what they can do for you

Sorry i couldn't be as helpful as you need

Just because that's when Apple has released things in the past at those times of year does not mean that's when they will release things in the future.

Apple has a 14 day unconditional return policy and after that you cannot return or exchange it.

Every tech company is constantly bringing out new hardware, be it laptops, desktops, monitors, tablets, cell phones, smart watches, etc. They are not obligated to tell you when buying what may be coming out or when (and the store staff would not know anyway). If you were still within the sellers return period you could swap it. Otherwise, you made your purchase decision as you chose to.

What if you'd bought it 5 weeks before a new release? Or two months, or 16 days? At what point would you be "satisfied" that the time difference was acceptable?
