Snow Leopard DVD version for iMac mid 2010

I'm trying to install Snow Leopard to my iMac mid 2010 (iMac11,2) 21inch

but I can't find the exact version for the machine.

Using the retail version of 10.6 and 10.6.3 didn't work .

I even tried to install it from my usb flash drive that was restored from the disk utility

which was copied from the retail disk.

After booting from the retail 10.6.3 version by pressing the C key, or the option(alt) key ,

iMac starts to read the disk for a few seconds , and then the apple logo appears ,

and suddenly after that it starts to hang up.

The apple logo is still on the screen , but the computer isn't reading any data from

the dvd or the usb , and it becomes silent.

There is no progress bar displayed under the apple logo .

After googleing a bit , I found that iMac11,2 can't be installed directly from the

retail 10.6.3 disk , and I haven't tried installing from an another mac by using

the target disk mode , but I simply want to buy a disk that's able to install the OS.

According to Apple , iMac11,2 has 5 different build versions, and the first original

OSX was 10.6.3 but later on , it was shipped with 10.6.4 .

2Z691-6732-A seems to be compatible with the imac but I'm not sure which

version of the imac it refers to , and what's confusing is that this

2Z691-6732-A has a Disc version , 4.0 and 1.0 .. might be more out there...

Is there a different version besides 2Z691-6732-A ?

Is there a way to find out which DVD version I need to install Snow Leopard on

my iMac ? (including the Disc version)

I contacted AppleCare and they told me that the pre-installed version of the imac was 10.6.4 , not 10.6.3 .

They couldn't specify the build number and the original grey disks weren't sold anymore , just the update

version and the retail version(10.6.3) are available right now.

So, I bought a grey disk that has a version above 10.6.4 from the internet , a disk not for a imac though ...

I'll just restore the dvd into a usb and rewrite the installer package and hope it all works ...
