How to sync iPhone to MacBook

That depends if you are willing to put your data into a cloud service which then is out of your control or if you want to rely on local sync. Apple (intentionally?) forgot a few features for local sync like syncing bookmarks. iCloud allows that, but that obviously is a cloud service. Also as others pointed out, if you are still on 10.6.8 you may want to consider updating to a newer OS if your MacBook hardware allows.
