Saving and reopening imovie projects

I started a project and built a timeline where I edited various clips. I also exported a version of the movie I was making. My computer crashed and when I opened iMovies the finished movie was there but the timeline isn't so I can't make more edits. I don't want to start all over Sonos there anything I can do to access my prior work?
