That is unjustified. Drive "Genius" is likely to cause additional, unrelated problems including premature hard disk drive failure.
Do not exacerbate your existing troubles by installing even more garbage. If a problem does not occur in "Safe Mode" then read "If an issue doesn't happen in safe mode" in the above Support document. The other icons in your Mac's menu bar – the ones at the upper right of your screenshot – provide a clue.

Well, here is an interesting outcome...when I rebooted AFTER being in Safe Mode, the problem has gone away.
