How to delete multiple pages in Safari history

The sign on for Youtube is corrupted on Safari on my MacBook Pro- I can sign on in Firefox, but not on Safari. I pulled up all of my history, but when I highlight it and try to "delete" it doesn't work. I tried holding "command" also, "control" - but it doesn't work. I have hundreds in the history, but I don't want to delete my entire history- ONLY youtube. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks-

You tube is not an Apple application , if you want to delete all history of You tube history , click on clear all watch history .

Safari browser history is different , to clear all your back history an article : Safari for Mac: Clear your Safari browsing history

The cursor on top menu bar > History > scroll down to clear History .

select all history from drop down arrows and once again click on Clear History .

You are welcome. If Apple can't help, try signing in in another user account and try the Safe Mode.

Safe Mode - About El Capitan also Sierra

Safe Mode Startup – El Capitan. also Sierra

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

When I do a search for every time I've visited youtube (that's my problem- I can't sign in there- but only on Safari) over a hundred choices come up. I select "all"- they're highlighted and then when I click "delete" all the highlights disappear, and only ONE is then highlighted, and not even deleted. I've tried holding command, and control while trying to delete, but it's not working. I really don't want to delete all my history just to get rid of that, but I may have to..... no one online seems to have a solution. I was hoping that Apple support group would come through...

Have you tired emptying Safari’s browser cache? In Safari->Preferences->Advanced check the box at the bottom that says “Show Develop menu in menu bar”. Now type command-option-e to empty your browser cache. Another avenue to consider, find and delete any YouTube cookies. Safari->Preferences->Privacy then click on Manage Website Data, enter YouTube in the search box.

I'm sorry that I probably confused the issue when I said it was youtube.com that I was having difficulty with....I appreciate the time you took- but the issue is that I wanted to remove all youtube history from Safari. I am having problems with signing on (the page keeps refreshing) to youtube and was told that removing the history would clear up the problem. It turns out to be much more extensive than that and right now the engineer level at Apple is trying to figure out what's going on!
And at this point, I've manually removed all of the history in Safari- and the Apple Genius I was working with told me there is no way to select a large group of the Safari history and delete just that- which I think Apple should correct!

Thanks, again-

So you enter www.youtube.com in Safari and press Enter. Then what happens? Do you get to the YouTube website? If so what happens when you click Login on the YouTube main page? And by the way browser History and browser Cache are two different things. They are NOT the same. Have you emptied that cache per my previous post? Have you deleted any YouTube cookies per my previous post? You’ve never really explained what you mean by “I can’t login to You Tube.”

Actually, I was on the phone for about 6 hours last night with Apple Genius- we deleted history, deleted preferences, went through everything imaginable - (put it in the trash, restarted, but essentially saved everything just to test- and NOTHING worked). He couldn't figure out what was going on. So we made a log from my computer and it's going to the Apple Engineers to try to see what's happening.

but just for your information- I can of course get to a url for youtube.com - but when I click "login" the page would just refreshes itself. Nothing changed- groundhog day, over again.... I CAN login to youtube on Firefox, but there was something going on with only that page, and Safari.

He told me from everything I tried there's some mysterious thing going on that the engineers would have to evaluate.

I guess I have to click that the issue has been solved, although it hasn't because nice people are sincerely trying to help- but the Apple Genius ALSO told me that there is no way to delete part of the history - like searching just for "youtube" specifically, and trying to delete all of those.... It can't be done right now. I think it's a mistake that they didn't allow for that, but alas, that is the situation.

Again, thanks for trying!
