iPhone 7 has low volume with text and notification alerts but normal ringtone volume

I just upgrade to iPhone7 plus from iPhone 6 Plus. The text and notification alerts are half the volume they used to be and are half the volume of actual ringtones on the same phone. I've been unable to find a separate volume control for this. There is only one slide bare that controls all alerts and ringtones. Was this lower text tone intentional, and if so, why? Is there a way to increase this text tone volume to the same as that of the ringtone? Thanks in advance.

There is no separate volume for Alerts. What troubleshooting have you tried? User troubleshooting includes restart, reset, restore from backup, restore to factory; testing after each step.

It is not an intentional feature, however I've not heard of anyone experiencing issues like this. I'm not sure this is a bug, since I'm not aware of others. So you are saying that you restored your device to factory, then without adding any additional content to the device, you have tested it and the volume is still a problem, or did you restore your backup?
