FCPX 10.0 projects/events -> FCPX 10.3 Library

I would like to recover the edits of a pre-v.10.1 project on an old drive, but I only have FCPX v.10.3 - is there a way to recover the project without having access to v.10.1?

Final Cut Pro X, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

YOU CAn’t run both apps at the same time, but they can both be installed.

Is it safe to install the 10.2.3 trial to run concurrently with 10.3?
