How to turn off auto detect of phone numbers

I am working on a Macbook Air with OS X Yosemite v10.10.5. I get alerts via email from Salesforce that provide a URL. Within each of those URLs is a 7 digit number which the OS detects as a phone number and hyperlinks it to the VOIP (Voice Over IP) soft phone I have as an application. This renders the URL link useless, and even messes it up if I copy and paste it into a browser (Chrome). Any ideas about how I could turn this feature off?
