HI,
last night after connecting to a sound system a red light inside earphones jack turned on, on my MacBook 15 running OS X Sierra, mid 2015. after which neither my earphones are working or internal speakers. how to change it back to normal. any solution to this please.

Try re-inserting, then unplugging the headphone plug/audio cable into the jack numerous times. Also with the headphone plug/audio cable inserted in the jack, press and hold one of the volume buttons while unplugging the headphone plug/audio cable.
If this fails, try blowing hard into the headphone jack on the MacBook a few times.

Avoid doing that in the future. It will blow dust and other debris deeper into the device.
The Red light is the Optical Audio. The jack serves as both.
It would appear the jack may be defective and need to be replaced.
If you have Apple Care, take it in for repair.
