Notes app not responding

No idea why. I've trashed the 'container.plist', but it still won't open.

I ran Etre Check, here is the diagnosis... can anyone out there help? Thx

You have deleted containers.plist by mistake , it doesn't mean your notes will be lost forever they are on server , once you clean the HD and reinstall the operating system ( first of all take back up of all data ) .

An article : macOS Sierra: Erase and reinstall macOS

As sometimes , if my system files are corrupted I generally submit my system to apple authorised service centre , and after successful installation , when notes app is configured they come back easily from the server .

A general article to be read : Notes for Mac: Set up your notes accounts

I deleted the containers.plist deliberately, as I read elsewhere that this could solve the problem. In any case, when I click on the app, even though it doesn't open, a new containers.plist appears in the Containers/com.apple.notes folder.

I can access my Notes on iCloud.com, as well as on my tablet and smartphone, so I know that's nothing's lost.

So, is the only solution to erase and reinstall Mac OS?

So , you can see the notes data on iCloud.com by using your smart phone and on tablet it means the data is on the server but what about your Mac you can't open the notes application from here , so the notes application is corrupted its better to take back up of your data , clean the HD and reinstall the OS and your system will work as new .
