media-indexer
since few weeks I have this process called "media-indexer" draining all resources.
this machine is quite old and it's used only to run itunes and browse (via firefox).
is there any way I can manually kill this process for ever?

To adequately determine what may be responsible for that process choose Open Files and Ports, not Memory.
media-indexer is a normal macOS process. It should not be monopolizing the CPU to that degree though. Make no attempt to kill it.
