iMac 27" 2017 Apple LED Cinema-display 27"

Hello everybody,

I have a question:

Can I connect the Apple LED Cinemadisplay 27" with the mini DisplayPort to the new iMac 27" 2017.

Obviously not direct. I have additional LG 5K display with 3 USB-C Port connected to the iMac. Could I use a mini DisplayPort adapter to UCB-C and have all displays working?

Thank you very much in advance!!!

The simple answer is no. I spent some time trying the TB3 to TB2 cable and also thought I had a bad cable. I contact apple and here was the response: The issue is that Thunderbolt 3 does not support the Mini Display Port display of the Apple Cinema display. We have information on that that here >> Get help with video issues on external displays connected to your Mac. Sadly instead of adding both a TB2 & TB3 port to the new Imac 27 apple decided that it would be better to make the old Apple Cinema Display obsolete and force its users to buy a new one if they want a second monitor. Its of course not the first time apple has screwed its customers for the sake of money. The only option I can find now is to purchase a new monitor. clearly I will be looking for a non-apple monitor that will have some future backwards compatibility (eg: USB3).
