TP-Link TC-7620 not connecting to Airport Time Capsule

I just set up a new internet service at a new home (COX internet service). We bought a TP-Link TC-7620 as our modem. The modem seems to be receiving internet service. When I plug our Airport Time Capsule into that, however, the Airport is not connecting to the internet. The wifi is broadcasting, but no internet connection (yellow light is blinking). For some reason, my husband's iPad is able to connect, but our iPhones and macbook cannot.

I've tried the obvious - called COX, they say the internet is activated and the modem is registered. Have restarted everything several times.

Any ideas?

Whenever you change the modem, or make a major change on a network, you must reset the Time Capsule back to factory default settings and then set it up again so that it will pick up the correct settings from the new modem.

As it stands now based on the information that you have provided, the Time Capsule is still programmed to connect to your "old" modem, so it will not work correctly with a new modem until it has all of the settings that it needs.

The basic process to get going again would be.....

Power off the modem and leave it off for at least 20-30 minutes

Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the modem to the Time Capsule at the Time Capsule

Reset the Time Capsule back to factory default settings

Connect the Ethernet cable from the modem to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule

Run the setup again so that the Time Capsule will pick up the correct settings from the new modem

You can use the same name and passwords for the Time Capsule that were used before, or you can change the name and setup new passwords

Follow the instructions in this Apple Support document to perform a Hard Reset on the Time Capsule:

Resetting an AirPort base station FAQ - Apple Support

As the document specifies, only the network settings on the Time Capsule are reset back to default settings. Data stored on the Time Capsule hard drive is not affected at all.

Then, set up the Time Capsule again, just like you did when you first set it up. The Time Capsule Setup Guide, which came with the Time Capsule will walk you through the setup.
