How to "approve" iPad from a non-IOS device?

I have an iPad, Windows 10 PC, and Windows phone. Have the Windows iCloud app running on the PC. The iPad shows a badge on the Settigns that indicates I need to "Update Apple ID settings." If I follow the "Continue" button, I'm given a popup that says, "Approve This iPad" and "Waiting for approval." Instructions say to go to a device signed into iCloud and issue the approval from there.


I can see no way in the iCloud app on the PC to issue the required iPad approval.


I would really like to get rid of the nag on the iPad - what can I do?

I'm really not communicating here very well - sorry. I'll try to be as clear as I can: I want to know what to do after I sign into iCloud on some other device.


I can sign into my account just fine on the "other" device (Windows PC). I can run the iCloud app just fine on the other device. However, nowhere do I find any kind of option to "approve" the iPad (which, BTW, shows in my Apple devices list).


Back on the iPad, I still have the popup which says "Approve This iPad." It tells me to "Go to one of your other devices signed in to iCloud to approve this iPad." Well, I sign onto iCloud on the PC, and I get yet another 6-digit Verification Code that needs to be entered on the iPad. So I enter that, and I'm back at the "Approve This iPad" popup. Now I'm stuck in iCloud on the PC, and I still see no possible way to "Approve" the iPad.


Sign me Very, very, confused.

How do I set up iCloud Keychain on a new device without another device to approve from?

If you can't access any of your other devices that are using iCloud Keychain, you can still set up iCloud Keychain on another device if you have these items:

  • Your iCloud Security Code
  • The device that is using the SMS-capable phone number you provided when you first set up iCloud Keychain. A verification code is sent via SMS to this phone number. If you can't access this number, contact Apple Support, who can verify your identity, so that you can complete setup on your new device.

After you complete the setup, your iCloud Keychain will be pushed from the cloud to the new device.
