Do not disturb mode does not block facetime

I have used night time do no disturb mode for many years successfully. Recently it has started to allow face time calls through, waking me up. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Thanks.

A). iOS 10.3.2. iPhone 7 model MN9T2LL/A

B). I understand normal do not disturb functionality and do use scheduled do not disturb periods at night. I have tried disabling favorites and not allowing repeated calls and so forth but it's not just from favorites so disabling favorites has no effect and it's not second calls so that isn't it either.

C) I believe this is a bug not a user error, though I may be wrong, for the following reason:

D) This is repeatable. ANY face time, whether from a favorite or not, does not respect do not disturb. On the first attempt at face timing, not the second. My sons have the same problem.

Thanks!

Hey 2manmoshpit!

I understand you're having some trouble with Do Not Disturb on your iPhone. Not to worry, I'm here to help!

By default, Do Not Disturb mode is designed to limit the amount of calls (including those through FaceTime), notifications, and alerts you get while it's active. If you're still receiving FaceTime calls from a specific individual, it might be a good idea to double-check your settings:

Change your settings

If you don't want to be disturbed at a certain time, you can set a schedule. Tap Settings > Do Not Disturb and turn on Scheduled. Then set a time.

You can also choose when you want to receive alerts, calls, and notifications:

  • Allow Calls From: Allow calls from everyone, no one, your favorites, or specific contact groups stored on your device or iCloud.
  • Repeated Calls: If someone calls you twice within three minutes, the call won't be silenced.
  • Silence: Choose to silence calls and notifications always or only when the device is locked.

Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Specifically, take a look at the section about allowing calls. If it's currently set to favorites, make sure the FaceTime calls coming through aren't from a listed favorite. It would also be helpful to me if I knew a bit more about the background environment of your device, such as the model, currently installed iOS version, and if this happens with every FaceTime call with Do Not Disturb enabled, or just a select few.

Just let me know what you find when you get in those settings all we'll keep working together from there.
