Using a new simcard and help with forwarding

My question is this, How do I forward text messages? I have an iPhone 6S currently on Tmobile. I have 2 sim cards. Both are working and are separate phone #'s. I want to take out my current sim and put my new one in, and I would like all things related to the first sim to be forwarded to my new sim. I know how to basic forward telephone calls. But I need help in using texts as in having them forwarded. The just of it, is I want my current line the one I will be forwarding to remain my business line, and use the new sim for friends and family only, without having to use 2 different phones and without having to flip flop sim cards. IS this possible to do, or am I missing something? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks to all who tried to help with this., The answer is in fact the following>>>

After seeing the advice given I decided to call T mobile. After about a 1-1/2 hr phone call, (interdepartmental Transfers are bummer), I got transferred to a tech department. Here is what they did for me, They transferred all incoming calls and text messages to my new sim from my old sim. I do not know what they did, other than take 20 minutes on their end, they had me reset my iPhone 2 times, swap sims, reset again and enter a new 8 digit code after they walked me through settings . It works, I am already getting texts and calls from my old # trans routed to my new one along with imessages as well as folks with the green android messages. Thanks to all of the replies again.

You would have to check with the carrier about whether or not they will forward text messages. Not all carriers will do that, but there is no setting on the iPhone for doing that. That will cover SMS/MMS, your contacts that use non-iOS devices. iMessage can be more complicated, since once you put the different SIM into the phone, I believe it removes the other phone number from the Send & Receive settings in iMessage. That would affect your contacts that use iOS devices and iMessage. I don't think you can do this with iMessage.

Idris,

For the iMessage, wouldn't that require the senders to send iMessages to the Apple ID, since there would be two different phone numbers? Just wondering, since that may make things confusing for those sending messages to the OP.

After reading the two previous answers, I edited my post. However, I think it might work. Sending to the Apple ID should work.

I missed the edit. However, for the senders to send to the Apple ID, the OP would need to be sending from the Apple ID as well for the others to get the ID to send to. I believe it is just going to turn out to be an exercise in futility and not work like the OP would want it to.

And, after considering what my esteemed colleagues (i.e. you and ckuan) said, I made the edit. I think it could be made to work but I'm not sure and it's probably going to be a kludge. So, I defer. 😉

Glad you were able to get it worked out. Just out of curiosity, what happens to calls and texts that you want to be sending using your business line. What are people you are calling seeing when you call them and/or text them? Do they see the old number, or the new one, since you are responding from the new one? Have you tested this yet?
