MagSafe2 Adapter Only Works After Blowing On It

Hello!

This is kind of what I perceive as a strange issue, but here goes:

I recently noticed that the power adapter for my MacBook Air (13", early 2015 model) doesn't always start charging my computer as soon as it's plugged in. For the record, I'm using a power adapter for a MacBook Pro, but with a MagSafe to MagSafe 2 converter. As the title of this post would suggest, I've discovered that I can get it to charge right away if I blow on the converter before plugging it into my notebook.

Let me provide some background and context. As far as I can tell, the problem started about mid-April. This is significant because, around that time, I moved into a new place. From what I've been reading, there could be an issue with line noise/ground noise with my outlets, but information I had went a little over my head. I did try plugging the the power adapter into different outlets and switching from the extension cable to the "duckhead" and back. I did try using the MagSafe 2 power adapter that came with my MacBook Air, but I had the same trouble with that, too (at the time, I attributed the issue with it to my kittens chewing on it).

It's also worth mentioning that I did reset the SMC, switched the actual converter with another one I had, and that my MacBook Air is a refurbished model (though all of the research I did before buying said that it's basically like getting a brand new MacBook). I'm kind of at a loss at this point.

Any information or guidance on this would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance!
